Yes the totality of Xangaroos’ blogging has turned into a cancer consuming the Xanga servers...we're reaching a critical mass...a nuclear mass…LOL

Xanga says it's hurting again. And it is. Access yesterday was lethargic with short occasional outages for all; graphics at times were not uploading; and—sign of the times—the much-cherished (LOL) Site Data Box suffered triage and disappeared once again from even Premium accounts.
No...The dead links and the long-gone past posts don't matter at all. It's not the space, but bandwidth and CPU activity that's killing them. The servers, I'd wager, aren't "full", just "too busy" with the terror of rampant activity.
But I say: screw it. If we’re going to go out, let’s all go out together, blogging our brains out, spiking like lightning with over 2 million hits! Ha!
But if you’re a counter-terrorist (damn you): Buy Premium and save the day!!! Or: usernames A thru M blog on M W F, usernames N thru Z blog on T TH SA --open blog on Sundays! LOL

Dang it NFP, I don't want to give in. Remember when TV was free? And then cable came along and promised us no commercials? I held out until my kids threatened to turn me in to HRS for child abuse for not having the Disney channel... Now I pay 40 bucks a month for the barest minimum, put up with 7 minutes of commercials every fifteen minutes, and they beg for money on my PBS channels every other month. My free photo storage people want to sell me storage space now. My internet answering machine charges for what was once free. The real media player on which I listen to my music wants to charge; my hotmail account lets the porno through the filter so they can ask me to buy extra storage space; even my beloved Africam wants donations... Am I supposed to start charging for folks to read my poetry? I'm sorry friend, I will not go gently into this good night.
Look at every Internet community out there. Live Journal charges EVERY NEW MEMBER. Blogger has a pay version. Even Geocities charges. The fact is, running an Internet service requires expensive hardware, bandwidth, customized software, and plus the employees need to pay rent and eat.
Why you guys lash out like this is beyond me. Is there something specific that upsets you?

Hey, I didn't mean to attack anyone. And just so you know, John is my brother and I'm also an investor in Xanga.
For what it's worth, I was responding to what I perceived to be the negative tone of some of the comments, not to your post, NFP. Anyway, if I'm overly sensitive to some of these comments, it's because I see how everyone on the Xanga team works their ass off to scale a user base that grows at 5% a week, with pageviews growing at 10% a week. (Put another way, Xanga's user base doubles every 3 months and pageviews double every 7 weeks.)
