How about both?!
President George Bush is looking for 'fresh ideas' with regards to the Iraq War. Okay. Here's one:
We withdraw troops.
From Shiite and Sunni-held territory.
And redeploy them all to the northern Kurdish region.
And train and equip the Kurdish forces to become an elite national army.
And support them in re-embracing Kirkuk as a historical part of Kurdistan.
And wait for the Shi'as and Sunnis down south to neutralize each other in the ensuing civil war.
Then send the superior Kurdish Army marching south to restore order, giving them only air support.
Scaring the crap out of Iran, by the way, by having all our forces aligned along the Iranian border.
A stategic redployment that will dramatically reduce American casualities to almost nought overnight, while positioning us to deal with Iran in the real showdown ahead to come.
