Insight: A View Inside My Morning Head
While walking through a snow-covered parking lot on the way to work this morning, I noticed that one of my shoes had gotten untied. The prospect of crouching down in the snow to tie it didn’t excite me, so I looked around for another option. Nearby was a huge Ford F-500 truck, parked, with the logo “LESCO” all over it. You know the goofy commercials: “A-s-k LESSSSCOOO!” Well, it’s rear bumper was conveniently low and appealing. I was alone, but if you had been nearby you would have heard the following conversation:
“A-s-k LESSSSCOOO!”
“Hey LESCO, do you mind if I tie my fucking shoe on your rear bumper?”
(tying shoe) “I didn’t think so.”
Truth is, I have a problem with both of my shoes always coming untied. At least 6 times a day. And especially when I run. It’s very, very annoying. Bit this hasn’t always happened to me. Just in the last half year. Do I need a remedial shoe-tying course, I wonder?
I’ve begun double-knotting my shoes of late. They still work their way loose and get undone. No lie. Is this a metaphor for my life? Do I go to triple-knotting? I’m running out of lace! Oh my god, it IS a metaphor, isn’t it?

I was just going to suggest double knotting before I read that you do double knots! Maybe you should move to velcro closures instead of laces.

My boyfriend had this exact same problem. The only thing that's worked for him is getting shoes that don't have laces (Not velcro, just like .. stretchy tops kind of).
or you can get stretchy laces that don't tie.... you just pull them tight but don't have to tie them up....

Make sure the laces are all cotton without any nylon. The slicknessof nylon laces.. no good...they suck!
And when the owner of the truck gets to his vehicle and sees the tracks you left, on his big man machine,imagine how pissed he'll be because he figured out that someone put their shoes on his bumper!

I think its time for you to get new shoes..or you need another lesson of tieing your shoes..I agree w/ everyone else maybe you should try velcro..since you run and all....I hate when my shoes get untied to..grrrr..

they sell clips at sporting good stores for sneakers that hold the lace knot in place, or...i prefer nike prestos..they are the single most comfortable running shoe i have ever owned, not to mention they slip on like a sock with breatheable microfiber to channel sweat and air

HAHAHA I have ths same problem. Cant keep my shoes tied either. No matter what I try they just keep coming undone. Keep working at it and soon youll have to fince something that works beside velcro and when you do please let me know.

You know when I was working at a daycare we had this one 2 1/2 yr old whos shoes constantly ( I mean every 20-40 mins) came untied. Since the majority of 2 year olds have yet to perfect the whole peeing in the potty thing, we gave up on trying to teach him to tie his own shoes and went to our trusty old friend Duct Tape. hehehe
Or just get new laces. sometimes certain types made from types of nylon ect are slippery.
