  • Mid-autumn but no big chill,


    while sitting in the cemetery,
    listening to another’s poem,


    recorded and shared, nearby


    I single out a late-season dandelion,


    gently twist, then


    sniff its unprotesting fluffiness:


     


    first (and last) flower I’ll pick all year.
